“Written for the short film PAINT (2006), written and directed by Gerald Martin Davenport, and starring Aria Leven Davenport, Kyriè Sierra Davenport, Justin Mosier, and Reid Allen Young.

I knew I wanted something edgy and different from what I have normally done — but doing a movie and recording music was way too much to do since Painted was was written and recorded two weeks before our planned premiere for Paint — I did not like what I came up before production of Paint and during editing. I would like to have finished the song so we could have made a music video while we were doing the movie, but we may not have finished the movie if we did.

I am pleased with the song; it is simple yet complicated in its presentation — I do not get bored of it. Aria was to sing it, and play specific guitar parts on it, but he opted for me to sing, but he did play guitar on it.”
